One of our prestigious international clients, C&A Law, Mauritius, is looking for a motivated and analytical Junior Compliance Analyst to join their Compliance Team remotely from Sri Lanka.

The successful candidate will support local and international clients with sanctions screening, customer due diligence analysis, risk assessments, compliance research and preparation of compliance reports. The role provides direct exposure to Compliance professionals and Directors and is well suited to a practical and detail-oriented professional seeking long-term development in a demanding advisory environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyse customer due diligence information and supporting documents in line with applicable Mauritian requirements.
  • Perform sanctions, adverse-media and risk-database screening, including searches against relevant international lists.
  • Analyse complex ownership structures, entities and higher-risk customer profiles, including politically exposed persons (PEPs).
  • Prepare and maintain client risk assessments and support periodic reviews and ongoing monitoring.
  • Draft and update compliance manuals, policies, procedures, registers and records.
  • Provide support to the Mauritian Compliance Analysts Team in their day-to-day work.
  • Conduct compliance-related research and assist with gathering relevant regulatory information.
  • Assist in preparing compliance presentations for clients and internal teams.
  • Assist in drafting compliance reports for clients.
  • Support other compliance-related assignments as required by the team.
  • Maintain confidentiality, accuracy and professionalism when handling sensitive client and compliance information.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma or graduate degree in Law, Law and Management, Finance with Law, or another relevant discipline from a recognised university.
  • Minimum one year of relevant experience in AML/CFT compliance within a banking or financial services institution.
  • Good knowledge of the FATF Recommendations.
  • Practical experience in customer due diligence, risk-based compliance and sanctions screening.
  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • Sound analytical, organisational, drafting and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure and deliver high-quality work for local and international clients.
  • Ability to receive, process and implement peer and managerial feedback with a growth mindset.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to evolving project requirements and diverse colleague perspectives in virtual work environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
