One of our reputed clients is seeking detail-oriented BPO Executives – Medical / Clinical Coding to join their operations team. The role involves reviewing clinical documentation, accurately coding medical information, and maintaining electronic patient records while ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and data confidentiality.

SALARY: LKR 70,000

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review and analyse clinical documents to extract and code relevant medical information.
• Assign SNOMED and other industry-standard clinical codes accurately.
• Record and file documents into systems such as EMIS Web, Docman, and SystmOne according to clinical coding protocols.
• Ensure accurate data entry into patient electronic medical records.
• Identify missing or unclear information in patient documentation and escalate when required.
• Ensure documents requiring GP attention are properly escalated to the Team Lead.
• Maintain high levels of coding accuracy and productivity as per internal KPIs.
• Support internal audits and quality assurance reviews.
• Communicate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and avoid duplication.
• Maintain strict confidentiality when handling patient data and comply with GDPR policies.
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support the team during workload fluctuations and provide cover when required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Medical Records, Life Sciences, Nursing, Management, or a related healthcare field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in medical or clinical coding or a related field.
• Good understanding of clinical coding standards such as ICD-10, SNOMED, or NHS coding standards.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
