One of our prestigious clients in Qatar is looking for experienced Oil Spill Responders to join their team immediately.
The successful candidates will be responsible for responding to oil spill incidents, supporting containment and recovery operations, deploying spill response equipment, and ensuring all activities are carried out safely and according to established procedures.
SALARY: Negotiable – Based on experience and qualifications
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Respond promptly to oil spill incidents and emergency situations.
- Assist with the containment, recovery, and cleanup of oil and hazardous substances.
- Deploy and operate oil spill response equipment such as booms, skimmers, pumps, hoses, and recovery systems.
- Assist in setting up containment barriers and other spill-control measures.
- Collect and safely handle recovered oil, contaminated materials, and waste.
- Conduct inspections of spill response equipment and ensure it is ready for emergency deployment.
- Assist with routine maintenance and cleaning of spill response equipment.
- Support shoreline, marine, industrial, and facility spill response activities as required.
- Follow approved oil spill response plans, procedures, and emergency instructions.
- Assist supervisors in assessing spill areas and reporting observations.
- Maintain accurate records of response activities, equipment usage, and recovered materials.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly during response operations.
- Follow environmental, health, and safety regulations at all times.
- Participate in emergency drills, training, and spill response exercises.
- Maintain good housekeeping and ensure response equipment is properly stored after use.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant technical qualification or training in Oil Spill Response, Environmental Management, Marine Operations, Safety, or a related field.
- Proven experience in oil spill response, environmental cleanup, marine operations, or industrial emergency response.
- Knowledge of oil spill containment, recovery, and cleanup procedures.
- Familiarity with oil spill response equipment and its safe operation.
- Good understanding of environmental and workplace safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively during emergency and demanding situations.
- Physically fit and capable of working outdoors, at marine locations, or in industrial environments.
- Ability to work as part of a response team and follow instructions from supervisors.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or emergency call-outs when required.
- GCC/Qatar experience will be an added advantage.
- Relevant oil spill response, HSE, marine, or environmental certifications will be an advantage.
